About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven QA Lead with strong expertise in functional testing, test automation using Playwright (JavaScript), and proven experience in leading QA teams across multiple projects.

This role will play a critical part in defining test strategy, building scalable automation frameworks, and ensuring high product quality across releases.

The ideal candidate combines hands‑on technical depth with strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead and mentor QA teams across multiple projects with end‑to‑end ownership.
• Define and implement test strategy, testing roadmap, and quality metrics across projects.
• Identify potential risks early, create mitigation plans, and ensure smooth execution.
• Drive QA best practices, standards, and continuous process improvements.
• Define, monitor, and evaluate individual goals / KRAs for team members.

Hands‑On Testing & Automation

• Work as an individual contributor when required.
• Own functional, API, database, and regression testing activities.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation solutions using Playwright and JavaScript.
• Ensure automation coverage for functional and regression test suites.
• Perform deep root cause analysis and troubleshooting of defects.

Project & Team Management

• Support project initiation, planning, and effort estimation.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team building for new projects.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to ensure quality delivery.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience leading QA teams across projects
• 5–7 years of strong experience in functional testing
• API testing
• Database testing
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience with test automation using:
• Playwright
• JavaScript‑based automation frameworks
• Experience in defining test strategies and QA roadmaps
• Strong experience in risk identification and mitigation planning
• Experience with Test Management tools:
• JIRA
• TestRail
• ALM or similar tools
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills

Good to Have

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages, tools, and frameworks
